About Occam
Christina Burns is the Founder & Principal of Occam Strategic Advisory, an executive consulting firm focused on the operational side of strategy for healthcare, behavioral health, human services, and mission‑driven organizations. We bring a disciplined, practical approach to the messy middle—where engagement, workflows, and execution either support your goals or quietly erode them.
With more than 16 years of experience across human services, behavioral health, program development, engagement operations, facilitation, and implementation support, Christina brings a systems-level perspective to organizational challenges that are often misread as isolated performance issues.
Her work focuses on the space between strategy and execution — helping organizations clarify workflows, strengthen engagement systems, define ownership, develop SOPs, and create implementation structures that leadership teams can trust and frontline teams can run consistently.
Christina’s approach is grounded in operational clarity, trauma-informed perspective, practical implementation, and measurable systems improvement.
She works with organizations facing engagement breakdowns, inconsistent workflows, unclear processes, enrollment or retention friction, and execution gaps that affect service delivery and outcomes.
Our Mission
Helping organizations create clarity at the point of complexity through strategic assessment, operational alignment, and implementation-focused advisory.
How we think
Our work is intentional, diagnostic, and detail oriented. We value thoughtful analysis, accurate assessment, and solutions designed to fit the realities of each organization.
Organizations function through people. We approach operational and engagement challenges with awareness of communication, workflow realities, organizational stressors, and the human impact of systems design.
We believe that clarity is created, not found. Strategy only matters when it shapes day‑to‑day decisions, handoffs, and behaviors. Our work is structured, minimal, and evidence‑led: strip away noise, define what is essential, then design systems and routines that make it easier for people to do the right work consistently.
We pair executive‑level thinking with operational depth. That means:
- Grounding recommendations in your constraints, not an idealized model.
- Translating abstractions into workflows, roles, and artefacts your teams can actually use.
- Staying focused on measurable shifts in engagement, reliability, and throughput—not just slideware.
Strong systems evolve. We value learning, adaptation, process improvement, and ongoing refinement to support long-term organizational stability and growth.
We operate with professionalism, discretion, honesty, and respect for the organizations and people we serve. We stay within our expertise and maintain clear ethical and professional boundaries.
Who we serve
We work with healthcare, behavioral health, human services, nonprofit, for-profit, government, and other mission‑driven organizations that need stronger engagement systems, workflow clarity, operational structure, and disciplined execution—often in environments of high complexity and limited margin for error.
